Classic Game Room HD reviews DARKEST OF DAYS for Xbox 360 where you fight your way through history in this very interesting and bizarre first person shooter! Ever wanted to tear through the American Civil War with a futuristic machine gun, or run through the trenches in WW1 with superballs that save people from being wiped out of time??? Well, if you can take the technical glitches and jerky gameplay then you may really dig Darkest of Days for Xbox 360. This CGR review of Darkest of Days has gameplay from this science fiction / historical shooter where you engage in combat during the Civil War, WW1, WW2 and more. Antique weapons and sci fi artillery are at your disposal, but not all at once. Darkest of Days may just be the weirdest FPS you’ll ever play with a lengthy storyline and odd animation scenes. It’s not for everyone, but for those who enjoyed the Highlander TV show or Quantum Leap it may be right up your alley.

Classic Game Room HD - WOLFENSTEIN for Xbox 360 video game review! This CGR review of Wolfenstein has gameplay from Wolfenstein on Xbox 360, also on PS3 Playstation 3. Wolfenstein is like Call of Duty 2 meets Soul Reaver crossed with Bioshock. The single play campaign is extremely cool and lots of fun. The folks at id have poured a lot of creativity into Wolfenstein to make a first person shooter that stands out from the crowd, and thanks to the massive dose of style and awesomeness they’ve done just that. Return to Castle Awesomestein! Slaughter Nazi bad guys with a variety of WWII weapons and some serious sci-fi type stuff like particle beams. Use your Veil, upgrade your MP-40 and rock this game with some shooting mayhem. Take the time to explore and find some gold, I really dug Wolfenstein and enjoyed the storyline, gameplay and art design. I did not like the multiplayer because it was jerky, odd and strangely out of date. The maps were sloppy and overall presentation was kind of wack compared to the big multiplyer games like COD4, WAW and Halo 3 on XBLA. Aside from that I’d recommend Wolfenstein for those looking for a memorable and action packed first person shooter adventure worth playing more than once.
Classic Game Room HD reviews CALL OF DUTY 2 for Xbox 360 (also on PC). Call of Duty 2 is developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, it takes place during World War 2 and features several characters from the allied perspective. You play as a Russian, British soldier and American and fight wave after wave of Nazis in dozens of intense battles across the globe. Massive in size and scope, COD2 has an immense single player campaign that is both challenging and exhilerating with constant, non stop gunfights and some vehicle levels. Duke it out across deserts, wrecked cities and through France during the D-Day operation, this early release for the Xbox 360 was a pretty heavy hitter as far as first person shooters go. Extremely affordable today and overshadowed by its younger sibling, COD4 Modern Warfare, Call of Duty 2 should not be overlooked by fans of action games, FPS shooters and WW2 video game enthusiasts. This CGRHD review of Call of Duty 2 has gameplay footage from COD2 showing game play during this World War II video game where the din of battle rarely dies down.

Drive tanks down Wall Street, now that’s payback for your 401k! Alex Mercer is the prototype created by a horrible government conspiracy. Seek revenge against your creators and pretty much whatever or whoever gets in your way. Consume other people and morph into their form, throw taxis at people and jump off the Empire State Building. Prototype is darned fun and a violent, explody, bangy, crashy joy to play. It runs in High Definition and the Xbox 360 version has achievement points for Prototype. Earn weapon and jump upgrades (and more) and have a great time with side missions, challenges and other chaos that you create in Prototype! Classic Game Room HD reviews COMMAND & CONQUER RED ALERT 3 Ultimate Edition for the Playstation 3 PS3 video game console. From Electronic Arts comes the wildest Command and Conquer yet with girls, guns and giant robots! This CGRHD review of Command and Conquer has gameplay footage from Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 recorded in HD showing game play in this real time strategy video game. Take command of the Soviets, Allies and Imperial Japan in this all out strategy game to the death. The storyline is entertaining and the cinematic cutscenes have actors like George Takei, Jenny McCarthy, Tim Curry, Jonathan Pryce, J.K. Simmons, Kelly Hu and Ivana Milicevic. Vinyl miniskirts, cleavage and helicopter gunships make Command & Conquer a well rounded game for boys who like RTS games and um… ladies. It’s a great mix! Hours of gameplay, PS3 trophies and an arsenal of crazy weapons and machines make C&C Red Alert 3 the biggest game in the series to date. Published by EA in 2009 for the PS3, this version has bloopers from the recording sessions and a short called The Women of Command & Conquer Red Alert 3. Classic Game Room HD reviews STAR TREK DAC for XBLA Xbox 360 Live Arcade. This Star Trek DAC video game review has gameplay from Star Trek DAC in HD from XBLA. Released to coincide with the new Universal Pictures movie, Star Trek, this game has surprisingly little to do with Star Trek. It is an excellent arcade style multiplayer shooter game like Asteroids meets deathmatch though. Take command of any of three Federation (or Romulan) vessels like the flagship, bomber and fighter then duke it out in DAC (deathmatch, ault and conquest). Play over XBLA Xbox Live Arcade or fight in a single player mode by yourself against computer AI. Star Trek D.A.C. is simple, straight forward, addictive and fun. It lacks the depth of the Star Trek universe but excels at that simple, clever game play that many other Star Trek video games lacked in years past. Star Trek DAC is a worthy purchase for fans of arcade style space ship shooters with a multiplayer, deathmatch, ault and conquest twist. Classic Game Room HD reviews JEWEL QUEST SOLITAIRE for Nintendo DS handheld video game system. It’s a puzzle game, it’s a card game, it’s on your Nintendo DS. This video game review from CGRHD has gameplay footage from Jewel Quest Solitaire for Nintendo DS showing game play. 114 different solitaire decks in a tri-peaks style of solitaire (which I’ve never heard of but it looks cool) combined with an interesting jewel themed puzzle game to increase scores is a fun and addictive way to kill hours of time. Presentation is strong, the use of the DS style in Jewel Quest Solitaire is good and overall replay value is high because of the challenge and quality of the game. Where’s the high score save feature though? While it’s not a game for everyone, those gamers who like card and puzzle games should get a kick out of this budget priced game for the Nintendo DS. Do you like Atari 2600 paddle games like Breakout, Super Breakout, Warplock and Warlords? Then check out Magic Ball for the PS3, although sadly there is no paddle controller. This CGRHD review has Magic Ball gameplay and footage from the Magic Ball downloadable video game from Creat Studios. It harks back to days at the arcade forking over coins into Arkanoid machines except with bright and colorful 3D environments that pop off the screen. Machine gun pirates, ponies and princesses, user laser cannons against castles and multiball against dragons. Magic Ball may be a bit slow for some old school fans looking for a crushing challenge, but just the fact that someone recognizes this awesome genre is enough to get all classic gaming fans excited.
