The 2008 American Crossword Puzzle Tournament was held in Brooklyn for the first year after being held in Stamford, CT for the past 30 years. The three competitors making it to the finals of the “A” division were Tyler Hinman, Trip Payne, and Howard Barkin.
Tyler Hinman competes to win a record four straight victories.

All of you need to …
All of you need to understand that crossword puzzles VARY in difficulty. These tournament puzzles I ume are quite difficult, while in his 2 minute solves he is often working on Monday’s puzzle in the New York Times, which is not very difficult.

He even needs to …
He even needs to think about the “word” before even writing it down. But on the other videos, he zoomed through it like dust. So his other so called “2.5 min corssword” is definetly fake and edited. He needs to be doing sumthign better in life than puzzles.

He sucked, if you ppl look at his other video at doing the “times mag crossword under 2.5 min” this man is bullshit about world greatest crossword player. If he is so good, then he should be able to solve this puzzle like he solved other ones in under 2.5 min. This man needs a life instead of doing puzzles forever.

Reminds me of a Sherlock Holmes joke, when Watson was doing the Times CWP, asking Holmes:
