What are good camp games for children entering first grade?
Posted on Jul 29, 2009 under games |I’m a camp counselor at a day camp for children entering first grade this year and I’m running out of ideas of games that I can play with them. Of course we play the classics- sharks and minnows, duck duck goose, ga-ga, etc., but I need more so that the kids don’t grow old of the games. Any help or a link to a website would be greatly appriciated.
familyfun.go.com is a really good website for stuff like that, it has EVERYTHING.

how about jump the creek? You take two jump ropes and put them parallel to each other and have the entire group jump over then move one out further and have them all jump again. you eliminate kids who touch the rope or cannot jump over both ropes. last one who can jump over without touching wins the game. There is also kickball, dodge ball and touch football, you can modify it for the size of your kids. Since you are outdoors also freeze tag, sidewalk chalk they love to draw on the sidewalks you can also do bubbles, a slip and slide for really hot days.
