Just as you see …
Just as you see woman that are sexualized you see men just as much but no one seems to notice that. What do you think Dom and Marcus are or any male character all buff huge strong confident guys. It goes both ways but the only difference is men don’t whine about it, we know what fantasy is and real life.

IMHO…girls are …
IMHO…girls are casual gamers and should be brought into the “HARDCORE!” category slowly.
However, they may not adjust well to it…and will probably prefer casual games (What percentage of girls play GOW, GeOW or KZ2 compared to guyz?)…like the Wii (which is bullshit BTW)…
Too many companies catering to girl gamers may ruin gaming as a hobby for guys…but then again I could be completely wrong.

Five stars, took …
Five stars, took the words right out of my mouth. I’m a female who is just entering the gaming industry, and I can relate to other women who feel alone or alienated by the male-dominated hobby of gaming. Even as a kid I there were rarely other girls at the gaming events that I attended, and my friends were primarily male due to the lack of interest in my favorite hobby of gaming. It would be nice to see more involvement, and with people like you it can happen.

I think the stigma …
I think the stigma the industry faces is more of a generalization of gaming as a ”peripheral entertainment” behind every other media eg movies music, series. Every other one is allowed to sexualize their male and female characters, so why not gaming? gaming companies want profits too, and looking at Wii which has a predominant women fanbase, look at Wiis’ games? We also run a risk of feminization of ‘male games’ to appeal to women and the broader ‘average gamer’

Wow what a nice presentation!
Agree.
For me I’ve been playing games like MGS, ,Spyro Resident Evil, and Tomb Raider since I was like 7. So form an young age I’ve always be interested with the more “hardcore” games out there. Sadly though none of my girlfriends really like to talk about video games with me. Then no guy wants me to really be around when they are gaming so it is hard.

Thank you for such …
Thank you for such an informative (and polite) presentation!
If only more people thought like you.
I myself grew up with my SNES and am currently in love with my Xbox 360. I’m not a huge fan of the casual games, but I’m not opposed to them. I’d rather look forward to Bioshock 2 than Petz 3 or whatever they’re called.

*Cough* I disagree …
*Cough* I disagree with 7225977. I was going to buy Prince of Persia,. that doesn’t make me a “nerd” as much as I know =/ I don’t like games like “oh my, come and buy a horse and be happy for ever and ever”. It’s, like, stupid.
I play SSBB with some friends (who are, by the way, all men) and they don’t seem to mind (only when they lose of course xD, but that’s beside the point).
Pd: sorry, my english sucks D:
